Your Summer List

Summer is right around the corner and your assignment is to go out there and enjoy yourself. Become immersed in all the good that Summer offers and do things that make you happy and feel alive. If you need any ideas, here are some great things to do that are good for your mind, body, and soul:

  1. Go to the Farmer’s Market for local fresh food and arts and crafts.

  2. Experiment to find your favorite “spa” water and stay hydrated.  I love to combine cucumber, mint, and lime. Drinking water is so important for your mind and body. You might as well make it taste good.

  3. Use affirmations to instill your self worth Look yourself in the mirror every morning and every night and say “I am safe. I am loved. I deserve to be happy in my life and at work.”

  4. Carve out at least 10 minutes for yourself every day Exercise, meditate, or journal.  Or sit and watch the world go by.  Feed your soul. Recharge.

  5. Try something new like a new recipe or a new game, or seek out an adventure like a road trip to uncharted territory.

  6. Start a new healthy habit and track it Try walking after dinner or making your bed every day.  Write it down or type it up and print it out so you can track your progress.

  7. Celebrate every day that you take care of yourself Celebrate your small wins. They add up over time. Do a happy dance or have a mindful cup of tea when you show yourself loving care.

  8. Slow down. Get a comfy lounger or hammock to relax.  Read a book or take a nap. Make sure you get your rest. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

  9. Plant a garden or pick up some flowers. Gardening and digging in the dirt is actually good for your health and bringing flowers inside extends the benefits of going outside and being in nature.

  10. Cool off by the water and have fun! Go for a swim, paddle, or sail. If you’re self conscious - wear a swim dress or skirt and feel great in and out of the pool, sea, lake, or river!

Take time each day to savor the moment, whether you make a practice of watching the sunset or sunrise, or you putter in your garden.  Each moment is precious. Enjoy the good times and remember them down to every last detail. Life is good when you dwell on the good things in life.
