Go Out Under the Stars

There’s something magical about stepping outside at night and gazing at the stars. You become acutely aware of the vastness of the universe and your connection to it.  When life feels overwhelming, take some time to be bedazzled by the stars.  Think of it as an escape just for you and a chance to recharge. Dress for the weather and find a quiet spot where you can see the sky.

Counting the stars or simply looking up at the night sky can be a form of meditation. As you breathe deeply and gaze at the constellations, stop overthinking everything and become present. Enjoy the stillness around you. Each star can be a reminder to dream big and trust that the Universe has a far better plan than you do.

Moon bathing, or spending time under the light of the moon, is another way to connect with nature. Sit or lie down in a spot where the moonlight touches your skin. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Imagine the moonlight washing away your stress and filling you with calm energy. It’s even more luminous to see the moon on the water. That is one of my favorite things. It’s like a natural work of art.

For an added layer of intention, bring a journal. Write down what you want to release and what you want to work on in the future. Use the moon’s energy to let go and start anew.

This simple practice reminds us of the importance of slowing down and connecting with nature in our own back yard.  Your renewal may give you an optimistic outlook just by being out under the stars.
