Nail Your Goals
When you set out to achieve a goal, the most important first step is to get crystal clear about your "why." Why are you setting this goal? When you understand the real motivation behind your goals your why will serve as your compass when challenges arise and your enthusiasm starts to wane. Post your goal and your why statement on your desk, your bathroom mirror, or add it to your screensaver. Seeing this reminder every day can help keep you going when progress feels slow. Studies show that people who write down their goals are significantly more likely to achieve them than those who don’t.
Set A Goal
Now that the holidays are behind us and you’ve settled into 2025, it’s time to set your goals. Begin by reflecting on what you really want. Ask yourself: What areas of my life do I want to improve? It’s important to dream big, but also to be realistic. Choose goals that excite and challenge you, while remaining achievable within your current circumstances. Setting a goal gives you a chance to focus on one area and sets you up to stretch yourself a little further the next time.
Self Care is Essential
But I can tell you from experience that it is your responsibility to take some time just for yourself or it will lead to burnout. You can shift your thinking to prioritize yourself so you can finally do the things you’ve wanted to do for years and get more out of life. Don’t be like me and wait 20 years before you pursue your passion. You can prioritize yourself while you take care of others without feeling guilty.
No Is a Complete Sentence
Saying “no” is one of the most empowering acts of self-care. Yet, it’s something many of us struggle with, especially when demands from work, family, and social obligations seem endless. Remember: you don’t owe anyone an explanation for prioritizing your well-being. Sometimes, “no” is the kindest word you can say.
Gratitude Daily
Do you have a gratitude practice? There are at least 3 times you might consider giving thanks in the course of the day.
Seven Ways to Feel Better
So much depends on our mindset. By making healthy choices we will feel better. Less sugar, more protein, and plenty of sleep will give you energy and keep you going much longer than continuing to do the same thing. Reducing your notifications and clearing out the clutter will clear your mind. And doing something out of your comfort zone and being grateful will help you grow and appreciate your blessings.
Got Positivity?
Your environment plays a massive role in shaping your mindset. Surround yourself with people who lift you up—friends, family, or mentors. If you lack a strong support system in your immediate circle, there’s no shame in looking elsewhere for inspiration. Seek out positive influencers, authors, or thought leaders who inspire you... Create a display or screensaver of the people who believe in you.
Get Moving!
Have walking meetings - It’s productive multi-tasking. Many women have been doing this for years with their friends in their free time but you can start walking and talking at work too.
Do squats while you brush your teeth - Add in little exercises while you are doing ordinary daily activities. It’s a positive way to muti-task.
Small Wins Are the First Step
When you celebrate just one accomplishment you are recognizing yourself for getting the job done. You are actually reinforcing this good behavior and as a result you will most likely move onto the next thing and get it done too! It is so much better to build yourself up than beat yourself up. And if you are celebrating a win on a project you are working on that means you are one step closer to achieving your goal. Woohoo!
Change For Your Own Good
The best way to make a change in your life is to name it and then create a goal to put it into motion. When you take personal responsibility for your welfare and happiness, you are personally invested which means you will follow through to achieve your goal. When you aren’t happy with an aspect (maybe more than one) of your life, it is up to you to do something about it.
Self-Care Sunday
Oprah was the first person I can remember who took Sunday off. She has always understood the benefits of taking a day of rest. She turns her phone off for 24 hours and she just enjoys being quiet and taking good care of herself without worrying about anyone or anything else. How would you like to begin that practice?
A Better You
The only way you are going to get better or make significant changes in your life is to be proactive, be positive, and to know that you will get out of it what you put into it. Develop that can-do attitude so you can live your life fully and feel the joy and sense of accomplishment that you deserve…Become your biggest cheerleader and know that you are amazing! Go out there and go get ‘em!
Just Keep Improving
We can learn a lot about what works and what doesn’t by going out there and doing our best and being open to the outcome. Things usually turn out better when we don’t attach any meaning to the outcome and we value the experience for what it is. So next time, tweak it a little, and try again. It’s not the big deal that we think it is. When you have a growth mindset you learn from your experiences in order to improve the next time.
Sleep for Your Health & Mood
The French Military Leader Napoleon Bonaparte said, “Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world.” That’s what you need to be thinking when you are tempted to do one more thing at night. Here are my top ten ways to improve your quality of sleep
A Little Bit Every Day
I love how Tony Robbins put it, “A goal is a dream with a deadline." The best way to make a dream a reality is to work on it a little bit every day. And the best way to make sure you do something every day is to add it to your schedule.
Happy AND Healthy
Do you want to run around the yard with your grandchildren or your dog? Do you want to be able to bend down to pick flowers or collect veggies from your garden? Do you want to clear brain fog or sleep better? These are the goal posts you use to guide your decisions. You can ask yourself, “Is this good for my body?”
10 Ways to Boost Confidence
Studies show that when you stand up straight, put those shoulders back, and lift your chest up high, you are sending the message to your brain that you feel confident. Take up space by putting your arms on your hips and spreading your legs like Wonder Woman. It will build your confidence. You can change your beliefs by changing your stance.
Words to Live By
I hope you are persistent, you realize the impact of your thoughts, you go for it more often than you hold back, and you tap into your inner strength and beliefs to be fulfilled and find meaning in life.
Comparison is Nonsense
For all the hardworking women out there, be the real you—dedicated, loving, and resilient. Instead of comparing yourselves to an impossible standard, focus on your health, happiness, and well-being, and take care of yourself as well as you take care of others.
You are Worthy
"Worthy" is about recognizing your inherent value and loving yourself for who you are. After a brief introduction, she breaks down the nine lies we tell ourselves that keep us stuck. From “My Weight Impacts My Worth” and “If I Stand Out, I’ll Get Kicked Out” to “I Need to Please Them to Love Me,” she breaks down what so many of us are struggling with and offers a way of thinking to have the freedom and the confidence to pursue your dreams.
